The coast of Murcia, so called Costa Calida, has a length of 170 km, where there are alternated big beaches of white sand by smaller others and small bays with cliffs.

Of 192 beaches classified under the Region, 21 are qualified by blue flag and other 19 possess the stamp Q of Tourist Quality granted by the Institute for the Tourist Spanish Quality (ICTE), organism dependent on the General Secretariat of Tourism of the Department of Economy, which turns it into the third autonomous community with more beaches certified with this title, being Cartagena, with 10, the Spanish municipality with more beaches that possess this qualification.
