Barcelona B’s Cameroonian striker, Jean Marie Dongou capped of his first team debut with a goal against Cartagena in Friday evening’s 1-4 Copa del Rey win and the youngster admitted that it was nothing short of a perfect debut.
In his post-match interview, Dongou found it hard to contain his emotions as he spoke about his dream debut after coming on for Pedro in the 78th minute.
“When you get a chance with the first team, you dream of scoring and this Friday that’s what happened to me.
“I am very happy to have got this first official goal. It’s important to score with the first team, but I am clear that Barça B is my team right now. It was a good game and I am happy that we won.”
Dongou becomes the first African player to come through La Masia and make his debut for the first teamand the first player from the Samuel Eto’o Foundation to make his professional debut.
