The Region offers ideal lands for a great variety of types of grape: monastrell, garnacha, the garnacha tintorera, the cencibel and cabernet sauvignon producing wines under three different Denominations from origin: Jumilla, Bullas and Yecla.

The Denomination of origin of Bullas granted in 1994 relies on 5.500 has and counts with 8 inscribed warehouses.

The Denomination of Yecla’s origin granted in 1975 relies on an extension of 4500 has and counts with 7 inscribed warehouses.

The Denomination of Jumilla’s origin with a total surface of 42.000 has includes six municipalities of Albacete and one of Murcia, Jumilla, which occupies the major extension with approximately 22.000 hectares.

Its levels of production of grape range between fifty and seventy million kilos per year, and its volume of wines production is approximately forty millions of litres per campaign.

The Grupo Fuertes Corporation operates in the wine sector with Bodegas Luzón with more than 500 hectares of vineyards, which nowadays are extended to reach 1.000 hectares, with varieties like monastrell, tempranillo, cabernet sauvignon, merlot and syrah.

It stands out among other wines, “Altos de Luzón” that it is one of six Spanish wines that figure among the top 100 wines of the world that every year are published by “Wine Spectator” the North American magazine, among all the brands that overcome 90 points. Bodegas Luzón exports more than 9.000 annual bottles of wine only to USA.
