The Costa Cálida offers excellent conditions for the continued practice of the nautical sports, especially sailing, from international regattas to one ton and yachting leisure, windsurfing and kite surfing. The calm waters of the Mar Menor are a paradise for the initiation and allow sailing 365 days a year. It is an authentic paradise for sailers.

Costa Calida offers 19 marinas, 12 are located in the Mar Menor area, being Tomás Maestre’s marina the most important one and the unique navigable channel that communicates the Mar Menor with the Mediterranean Sea, just opposite to Island Grosa.

The waters between Cabo de Palos and Cartagena offer amazing sailing and the area is an excellent field of regattas for experts.

One of the stages of the Audi MedCup Circuit, the most important regattas circuit of the world, is hosted in Cartagena port: military, fishing, commercial, passengers and sports marina. The Volvo Ocean Race 2008, the most prestigious and hardest regatta around the world had its route thorough the whole littoral of the Costa Calida.

The waters of the Mar Menor Sea near to the Centre of high sports performance “S.A.R. Infanta Cristina” host the S.A.R. Infanta Cristina Trophy, the Murcia Nautical Tourist Week and the Clubs Junior Spanish Championship.
